Covering Plastic

Choose the film grade before the roll size

Record the growing season, required light characteristics and the frame’s fixing method. Then check thickness, reinforcement and the exact film’s UV specification. A thicker sheet is not, by itself, a promise of a particular outdoor lifespan. Any quoted service life must apply to the selected grade.

The 24-by-40-foot reinforced clear film listing gives a concrete roll size to compare with your cut plan. Check the selected variant rather than relying on the first product image or a size mentioned elsewhere in the description.

Measure over the frame

Floor width does not include an arched roof or the material needed at the fixing edges. Measure the route the film must cover, add the allowance required by the attachment instructions, and plan end walls or openings separately. Compare both roll dimensions: enough total square footage can still leave a sheet too narrow for the span.
