Hose Timers

Hose timers control watering at the faucet. Start with the number of areas you want to water, then compare outlet count, scheduling, manual operation and the selected model’s pressure requirements. Check whether the listing is for one timer or a multipack.

Match the controls to your routine

A single outlet can suit one hose or watering zone. If separate areas need different schedules, check whether a multi-outlet timer allows independent programming. Manual watering and rain delay can be useful, but these features vary by model; the presence of an LCD or an app does not establish what the timer can control.

Before ordering, check faucet and hose connections, battery requirements, operating pressure and clearance below the spigot. For a connected model, confirm which gateway or hub is required and whether it is included. These details matter as much as the number of schedules.

A timer is one part of the system

Adding a timer does not make every hose or emitter compatible with your water supply. A drip layout may also need filtration and pressure regulation; Utah State University Extension’s planning guide explains those components.

Pair the selected control with a suitable garden hose or drip kit, and test the assembled setup before relying on a schedule.
