Buy a sheet that reaches the fixing edges

A calculation based on pond length, width and depth is only the beginning. The liner must also accommodate the actual contour and the allowance required by the edging method. A sheet that merely equals a geometric minimum can leave no material for fixing the perimeter.

The Aquascape 12-by-15-foot EPDM liner is a standard size to compare with a completed measurement plan. Confirm both dimensions; a sufficient total area does not prove that the sheet is long or wide enough for your pond.

Keep material roles distinct

Underlayment protects the waterproof liner and does not replace it. Select any primer, tape or repair supplies for the exact liner material and follow the manufacturer’s instructions. The buying guide links liner-sizing guidance and explains the limits of a simple calculation. If you are adding pond lights, plan their positions and cable routes while the overall layout is still being decided.
